Meet one of the many local vendors who will be selling their wares at Raleigh maker market Kinshop NC

Kinshop, Raleigh’s makers market, is back at Junction West this Saturday for all of your holiday shopping. Founders Hannah Lee and Lauren Waston created Kinshop last spring to create an inclusive and welcoming retail experience where people can hang out, have conversation and support local businesses. The proceeds from the event will benefit the Women’s Center of Raleigh.

We spoke with Jackie Morin, founder of Wonderpuff, an organic cotton candy company, who will be sharing her sugar for the second time at Kinshop. Morin says she loved the first Kinshop event back in April, and can’t wait for this one. “We wanted to come back and spin our sugar for Kinshop because their love for giving back to the community while supporting women-owned businesses is also a reflection of Wonderpuff,” says Morin. “We wanted to surround ourselves with like-minded women who want to bring love and unity in Raleigh.”

Morin’s business, based in Durham, is a modern take on cotton candy with flavors like watermelon, jasmine and pumpkin spice. “It means a lot to be part of a supportive environment like Kinshop because black woman-owned businesses often get overlooked. I’m honored to live in this community at a time where the world is heavily investing in women of color. It feels wonderful to be a part of a group of women making change through owning our own businesses.”
