Green Front invites you to meet the artist on November 9

Green Front Interiors & Rugs will host the works of artist Jackie Yongue November 9 for the opening reception of You’ve Got a Friend in Me. Yongue will mingle with champagne and conversation to kick off the show, which runs through December 10. Yongue, who paints watercolor on paper, began her journey with art after surviving Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma. Treatments and surgeries for the illness left her with nerve damage and complications, but she says she found solace and therapy through her art. “I honestly do not know what I would have done had I not been introduced to watercolor.  Many people find therapy in art. Be it through music, drawing or painting, all forms of art. It’s a fabulous tool to help people of all ages and gender.” Yongue’s detailed pieces depict realistic landscapes, animals and other forms of nature. “My love of architecture, nature and landscapes gives me such joy when I paint any of these subjects. And perhaps I am finally at the stage in life I was meant to be.” You can meet Yongue and see her exhibit, made in collaboration with Green Front, on display at the opening reception November 9 from noon to 5 p.m.
