Slant of Light: Poetic Vignettes

As fall turned to winter, photographer Juli Leonard visited the
JC Raulston Arboretum. North Carolina Poet Laureate Jaki Shelton Green
created poetic vignettes inspired by the images she captured.

The children are always listening... Tangled. Wild Violet... Open the hidden hand... Permission of the plants... ...the fluttering of wings... A single slant of light... Dawn whispers itself into the day... Come closer... The prancing light at dusk... Sun bends the edges... We. all the veils waiting to be lifted.
