Halloween 2026 falls on a Saturday, which means spooky season in the Triangle gets a full weekend of frights — plus more fun through all of October. From haunted houses and hayrides to costume parties and trick-or-treat events, some of North Carolina’s most bone-chilling celebrations are just a short drive from downtown Raleigh. Whether you’re looking for family-friendly Halloween events in Raleigh, a haunted trail in Lillington or an adults-only bar crawl in Glenwood South, we’ve rounded up WALTER’s picks for the best things to do this Halloween in Raleigh, NC.

Family-Friendly Frights

Halloween doesn’t have to be scary. From pumpkin picking to museums, the Triangle offers plenty of ways to celebrate the season without too many scares. Here are just a few events for a perfect night of slightly less frightening family fun.

Pick a Pumpkin at Page Farms

Take a trip out to Page Farms, where the annual pumpkin patch is open for the season. Enjoy a day full of farm fun, including a corn maze, hayride, playground, cow train, and visits with the farm animals. Finish the day by picking the picture-perfect pumpkin to take home with your family.

Have A Marvelous Time at Marbles

Watch The Pumpkin Flotilla

Watch Bond Lake come alive with glowing jack-o’-lanterns floating across the water at dusk. Cary’s annual Pumpkin Flotilla brings Halloween magic to the lake with music, food trucks, and festive fun. Grab the family, pick a pumpkin, and enjoy a spooky night on the water.

If your ideal Halloween involves some more haunting activities, then you’re in luck. There are plenty of places around the Triangle to get your heart racing. With dark trails, ghost stories, and haunted houses, these attractions bring a little more fright to the season.

Brave a Haunted Forest

Just a short drive away from Raleigh is Livingston’s Haunted Harvest. This seasonal attraction features a trail filled with live actors and spine-chilling scenes. This classic Halloween experience offers an eerie evening full of frights.

Have A Night at Pines Park

Carolina Pines Park gets a spooky makeover for The Haunted at the Pines on Oct. 30. The annual attraction transforms the park into a haunted house filled with themed rooms, frightful music, and plenty of Halloween thrills. The experience is recommended for ages 10 and older.

Hear Raleigh’s Ghost Stories

Raleigh’s history gets a haunted twist aboard the Haunted Trolley Tours at Mordecai Historic Park. The evening tours explore local ghost legends and historic sites, offering a different way to see some of Raleigh’s oldest stories.

For Costumes and Cocktails 

Once the sun goes down, Halloween takes on a more grown-up spirit around Raleigh. Dress up, grab a cocktail, and choose your preferred soundtrack—from witchy pop-ups to live music and burlesque.

Enjoy Witch, Please! 

Inspired by North Carolina folklore, Wye Hill transforms its taproom into a dark apothecary for Witch, Please! The immersive Halloween pop-up features botanical elixirs, themed food specials, high-proof craft cocktails, and over-the-top decorations. The experience runs throughout October, culminating in a DJ night on Halloween.

Crawl Through Downtown

Curtain Call From Beyond: Theatre Haunts & History Tours at the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts presents a guided 50-minute tour that explores backstage spaces and theater history.
