On Aug. 7, A Photographer’s Place hosted an event for Raleigh photographer Ellen Sabin’s exhibit “Double Take: Paired Photographs.” Captured spontaneously on her iPhone during her travels, the images were later matched by shape, color, texture and idea, turning ordinary moments into surprising connections. The exhibition invites viewers to look closer and take a double take. A former Dallas portrait photographer, Sabin has expanded into documentary photography and filmmaking since retiring in 2013, with work shown nationally and films in festivals.
