The Whirl: Oakwood Samedi Gras

On February 26, the Society for the Preservation of Historic Oakwood observed its annual Samedi Gras celebration. Themed A Menagerie of Mythical Beasts, the block party was headlined by the Awesomettes and Oakwood’s 2nd Line Band, and included the coronation of the King Leonidas XI and this year’s Imperial Empress, followed by a parade.
