The Whirl: Under One Canopy

On Apr. 22, WakeUp Wake County and RaleighForward hosted Under One Canopy, an Earth Day Celebration of Wake County’s Trees, at the Greg Poole, Jr. All Faiths Chapel at Dix Park. The event hosted residents, sustainability advocates, policymakers and design professionals for discussion and explored research-based strategies to steward green spaces in a rapidly growing region. The panel of experts included Bill Shroyer, GIS analyst with Wake County; Brooke Costanza, NC State’s Urban Forester; Basil Camu, co-founder of Leaf & Limb and Project Pando; Geoff Fritz, senior associate at Reed Hilderbrand Landscape Architecture; and Zach Manor, Raleigh’s Urban Forester.
