The Women’s Giving Network of Wake County held their annual Impact Luncheon at the Dorothy and Roy Park Alumni Center at NCSU November 7, 2019 to present its grant awards. 2019 winners are BloomHere, Read and Feed, Step Up Ministry, The Green Chair Project and Gifted Arts.

Hope Gala to Defeat ALS

The 2019 Hope Gala to Defeat ALS was held at the Umstead Resort and Spa to raise funds for Project ALS. Chris Combs and Ben Stiller were special guests.

Chasing the Bright Side Book Launch

Jess Ekstrom, founder of Headbands of Hope, held a book signing November 24, 2019 at the Kendra Scott jewelry store to celebrate the release of her book Chasing the Bright Side.

2019 Evening of Hope

The 2019 Evening of Hope gala was held September 18 at the Angus Barn Pavillions. The event raised money for the Foundation of Hope, a nonprofit  which supports breakthroughs in research for mental illness.

Raleigh City Farm Harvest Dinner

Raleigh City Farm, a nonprofit urban farm, hosted its seventh annual Harvest Dinner October 13, 2019 at Whitaker and Atlantic.


A luncheon to raise funds for BLOOMHERE was held at the Bridge Club September 24. Becca Stevens, founder of Thistle Farms, was the guest speaker. 

NC Insider Event

The Insider State Government News Service held its fall event October 23 at Caffe Luna. The event was sponsored by Randolph Cloud and Associates.

Fall For Art

Fall For Art Opening Night was held October 3, 2019 at the Transfer Co. Ballroom. The art show featured the work of artists Ben Knight, Michael Waller, Leah Foushee Waller and William Paul Thomas with an Artists’ Panel led by Chef Vivian Howard.
