Kat Williford is the founder and designer of a local, sustainable clothing company, Pamut Apparel. As a native to Raleigh and North Carolina State University graduate, she’s sharing her favorite lunch spots around town and her go-to for a good happy hour.
What’s your favorite spot downtown?
I love heading to C.Grace for some live jazz music and a beautifully crafted cocktail. My ultimate goal is to nab the table in the former DJ booth. Great view of the stage in your own private section!
Where do you go when you’re feeling a ‘treat yourself’ day?
Bittersweet for their S’mores brownie, plus a Gin & Jam.
What’s your hidden gem in Raleigh?
The Maker’s Space! It’s a huge warehouse fitted out with the best woodworking tools around. You can take classes or pay for time!
Tough decision, Char-Grill or Snoopy’s?
Snoopy’s, unless I’m craving chicken fingers, then I go for Char-Grill.
What’s your go-to coffee shop and usual order?
Brew, the oat milk cappuccino is delicious. They also sell my favorite macarons from Little Blue Macaron.
Where is your favorite place to grab lunch?
Benchwarmer Bagels, I’m planning to try everything on the menu!
What’s your favorite place for a weekday happy hour?
Tazza has great happy hour deals, with plenty of good parking—good parking is essential on a weekday evening.
Is there anything else in town that you love and want to share?
I love hanging out at one of Raleigh’s many parks… Fred Fletcher and Pullen are my favorites!
