Sunday Open House: Situated in Forest Park, modern Sunday Open House: Situated in Forest Park, modern luxury meets historic Georgian Revival in this architectural gem. Built more than 100 years ago and owned by the legendary Dr. John Reuer of NC State's College of Design, the current owners commissioned a thoughtful renovation with Katherine Hogan Architects for an addition, but wanted to carry on its local legacy. The result was an award-winning project with a dramatic two-story circulation hall connecting the original historic home and the modern wings. The historic portion features light-filled formal rooms, 10-foot ceilings, intricate woodwork and a grand entry foyer with an elegant staircase. The modern expansion introduces open-concept living with floor-to-ceiling glass walls overlooking a private landscaped bamboo garden.
