In this series, we poll our in-the-know friends on what they love to see, do, eat and more in the Triangle.
Wine lover and owner of Vita Vite in Raleigh and North Hills, Lindsay Rice isn’t shy when it comes to spilling her favorite places around downtown. Not only is Lindsay a wine aficionado, but she’s frequently traveling the globe exploring her love for art. Between ice cream at Kilwins and special happy hours at Cortez, she has recommendations for everyone.
What are your favorite spot(s) downtown?
Brunch at Capital Club 16, dinner at Royale and shopping at Flourish Market.
Where do you go when you’re feeling a ‘treat yourself’ day?
Kilwins has become a guilty pleasure now that we have a location in North Hills. If I’m downtown, I go to Bittersweet.
What’s your hidden gem in Raleigh?
Apero: a great little spot for drinks tucked away in City Market.
Tough decision, Char-Grill or Snoopy’s?
What’s your go-to coffee shop and usual order?
I make myself a flat white at home every morning. If I get it out, it’s a dirty chai from Hereghty.
What’s your favorite place for a weekday happy hour?
Oyster happy hour at Cortez.
Is there anything else in town that you love and want to share?
I’m always drinking wine at Vita Vite, so I love having beer when I’m out and about. Neuse River Brewing and Crafty Beer Wine & Spirits are two of my favorites.
